BETTY RUTH MUMMERT
MCDERMOTT —Betty Ruth Mummert, 88 of McDermott, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by loved ones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Mummert, Jr. on Aug. 11, 2008; two brothers, William and John Smith and two sisters, Mary Dunham and Victoria Harper. Betty was born on March 19, 1930 in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Victor Holmes and Nell Hannah Scouten Smith. She was a homemaker who loved spending her time cooking for others, singing hymns with family and raising her grandkids who she adored. She had also attended Rehoboth Mission Church in West Portsmouth.
Betty is survived by one son Donald (Carol) Mummert of McDermott; 4 daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Little of Peebles, Janet Gee and Susan (David) Evans both of McDermott and Pamela (Terry) Young of Carlisle, OH; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two nieces, Marjorie Rice, Mary Ellen Rose and two nephews, David (Butch) Smith and Rick Rogers.
A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the McCullough Baptist Church, with Pastors David Lute and Thomas Little officiating. Interment will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott. The family will receive friends at the Adkins Family Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church. RIP Betty Ruth, you deserve it......no more canning, no more cutting grass, etc....no more worries!!! Love you and tell Jr and all of them, "hello" for us!

Don and Carol, I am so sorry not to have made it to the services on sunday evening. Did not see when the services were till after mn on Monday am. Will not be able to see you on Monday as we will be heading to Columbus. She is no longer suffering she is with the Father in heaven.
