Frank Tiedge Obituary

FRANK TIEDGE

PORTSMOUTH — Frank Tiedge, 95, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, September 8, 2018 at SOMC Hospice. He was born October 26, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Fredrick Tiedge and Alice Hilgemeir.

Frank was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Frank was well known in the Portsmouth area. He was former proprietor of Frank Tiedge Oldsmobile-Cadillac Dealership and Frank Tiedge Ford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Cook.

Frank is survived by his wife, Patty Tiedge; two sons, Wayne Tiedge and Vernon (Linda) Tiedge; two granddaughters, Eve and Deana; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Evan Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to American Red Cross, 1801 Robinson Avenue, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662 and Salvation Army, 1001 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.

Arrangements are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.

Frank was, indeed a great guy. When I think of him, I usually am picturing him in the steamy church kitchen, his sleeves rolled up and doing whatever was needed to help. Patty and family, I know you will miss him. Wishing you comfort and peace.

To Vernon and Linda, my homeroom classmates from the PHS Class of '68, please accept my sincere condolences. I was acquainted with Mr. Frank Tiedge only through my brief encounters with him at his automobile dealerships. In each instance I found him to be a fair-minded, pleasant and genuinely likable man. I am sorry for your loss.
