LUCASVILLE-Mark Anthony Jenkins, 67, of Lucasville, died on January 31, 2023. Born April 10, 1955, to the late Virgil and Arlene Jenkins of Lucasville.
Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Virgil, his sister, Jacque, his son, Charles Risner, Jr., and his wife of 40 years, Tina Jenkins.
Mark is survived by two daughters, Marci (Dave) Risner Godwin of Brewster, Ohio, and Becky Jenkins (Shana) of Bowling Green, Ohio. Mark has two granddaughters, Hailey Pierce of Massillon, Alison Hammonds of Portsmouth, and three grandsons: Jacob and Ethan Godwin of Brewster, Ohio, and Dylan Pollard of Virginia Beach, Va. Mark was also an uncle, a cousin, and a friend, and leaves behind his two loyal dogs, JR and Baby.
A 1973 graduate of Northwest High School in McDermott, Ohio, Mark owned many small businesses in the area, but was best known for his years running the Community Action Bingo in Portsmouth. Mark also served as a Master Mason at the Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465 and earned his 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite from the Valley of Cincinnati.
Mark, our "Pop," "Pappaw," and "Papoo", loved movies, cars, old country music, fishing, wearing his signature Carhartt shirts, and tinkering endlessly. He hated cutting grass but did it for his mom until her dying day anyway. That's just the man he was. A good man with many friends and a non-stop "I'll sleep when I'm dead" attitude- he will be sorely missed. Life is a highway … .
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.

I was very sorry to learn of Mark passing. It just seemed like nothing could bring him down. He was very good to me over the years. He was an electrician, a plumber, a mechanic. Always able to fix things. I know that he deeply loved his wife and family and did his best to make them happy. I pray he will now enjoy eternal peace and that his family will find comfort in their many memories of him.

We were so very sad to hear about Mark. Dave always talks about their days when they played in a band together and what great memories they shared. He will be sadly missed... Love and prayers to all..

I have many memories of Mark during our high school years, especially the times we represented Northwest's A.B. Jones Chapter of the National Honor Society by going together to other local school's National Honor Society inductions. He was a lot of fun and a very intelligent student. Sending sincere condolences all his family.
