Tony Whitt Obituary
TONY WHITT JR.
CLAY TOWNSHIP — Tony Allen Whitt Jr., 19, of Clay Township, died Friday, July 25, 2014, as a result of injuries sustained in an all terrain vehicle accident.
He was born Jan. 17, 1995, in Portsmouth the son of Tony and Tina Melvin Whitt Sr.
Tony was a farmer, and a 2013 graduate of Clay High School and the Scioto County Career Technical Center. He was a member of the Panther's Cross Country Team and the Boys Basketball Team where he was bestowed the Boy's Defensive Award, and the 2010-2011 Leading Rebounder.
Tony also enjoyed Dirt Track Racing where he had won multiple races, Off Road Riding, and working with his Dad on the family farm. He attended Unity Full Gospel Fellowship in New Boston.
He is also survived by his sister, Tabitha at home; half sister Tiffany (Chad) Bennett of West Portsmouth; Paternal grandmother, Pauline Whitt of Lucasville; Maternal Grandparents Larry and Sandy Melvin of South Shore, Ky.; several uncles, aunts, cousins, one nephew, one niece, and literally hundreds of close friends and comrades that dearly loved Tony.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, Curtis Whitt.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Welcome Home Christian Fellowship Church at 10079A US 23 North, in Lucasville with Rev. Jack Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Orm Cemetery in Rosemount. Friends may call Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. and an hour before the service, both at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Welcome Home Christian Fellowship Church, PO Box 1229, Lucasville, Ohio 45648.
