NEW BOSTON-Wanda R. Potts, age 68, of New Boston, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born August 19, 1952 in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late Carlos L. Potts and Helen C. King Potts. Wanda graduated from New Boston High School, and then later received a nurse's aide certification. Prior to retiring, she was a home health aide for several years. Wanda was a huge old movies fan, including Ann of Green Gables and anything featuring Shirley Temple. She enjoyed quilting, working puzzles and especially enjoyed traveling with friends. Wanda is survived by brothers, Carlos R. Potts (Jeana) and Harold Joseph Potts (Terri); sisters, Pam Warner (Bill), Stella Cooper and Sandy Cook; sisters-in-law, Martha and Linda; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Larry "Butch" Potts, Gary Potts, George Potts and infant James Potts. Graveside service will be held at a later date in Jr. Furnace Cemetery in Franklin Furnace. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Wanda was very special in the Salyer family. When she was younger she lived in our home and cared for 6 children all under the age of 6 years old. She was a good friend to us all. She had a kind, loving and generous heart. Thoughts and prayers are with all who knew her.
