Arnell Brady Sr.

1934 - 2021

Arnell Brady Sr., 86, of Corpus Christi, TX, formerly of Gary, IN, strong will to live served him well after suddenly falling ill in April 2020. Doctors were baffled and hospital staff called him their "miracle patient". After a year and a half of exceeding medical expectations he lost the battle on September 23, 2021 with his primary caregiver, son Gregory and Gregory's wife Valerie by his side, and his three daughters Angela, Rhonda, and Zina present via Facetime. He was born November 22, 1934 to Willie and Blaine Brady in Quincy, IL. He attended Calumet High School and served in the United States Air Force. He married childhood sweetheart Rosemarie King and to that union his five children were born. He later married Breazelia Blackwell followed by marriage to Dorothy Gillette. He retired from Inland Steel after 30 years of service and worked various other jobs well into his 70's to "keep busy". He loved to fish, walk his dog, and watch old westerns on TV.

His survivors include; son Gregory (Valerie) Brady, daughters Angela Caldwell-Sanders, Rhonda (Paul) Anderson, and Zina (Leonard) Morrow, wife Dorothy Brady, first wife Rosemarie Pierce, twenty-one grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by son Arnell Brady Jr., parents Willie and Bennie Hooks, sister Verenda Hooks, father Blaine Brady, and 2nd wife, Breazelia Brady.

A celebration of life will be held virtually on what would have been his 87th birthday on November 22, 2021 with grandson Minister Dr. DeAndre Caldwell officiating. Seaside Funeral Home, Corpus Christi, TX will render professional services.
