Barbara Jean Watson

1945 - 2021

Barbara Jean Watson (nee Fleming) was born on October 27, 1945 to the late Edward & Mavis (Clark) Fleming in Gary, IN. a proud graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1965. Barbara was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Watson on September 23, 1978, to this union one daughter was born. She was a retired matron of the Gary Community School Corporation and former employee of U. S. Steel Gary Works. Barbara was a former member of Twentieth Century M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Thomas C. McKinley. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Edward & Mavis Fleming; three brothers Charles, Johnny and Larry Fleming; two sisters Carolyn Nailor and June Fleming Crawford. Barbara is survived by two daughters LaTonya E. Green and Krystal R. Watson; one son Ronald D. Green all of Gary, IN; three grandchildren Alfred C. Thomas, Jr., Darius D. Wiggins and Dorian D. Wiggins; one great grandson Aiden M. Wiggins; brother Darren Fleming; five sisters Gloria Dukes, Evelyn Poole, JoAnn Fleming, Anita Fleming, Regina Patton; special friend Idella Tribble and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday August 6, 2021 from 12 noon – 8:00p.m. Family hours 6-8:00p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel. Funeral service Saturday August 7, 2021 at 11:00a.m. at Tree of Life Church 2323 West 11th Avenue. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
