I was an aide for Bertha, for only four months. In a short amount of time I learned alot with B.B is what I would call her.I was D and she was B."Were A Team" as she would say. With a warm smile.Every time I was on my way to see B, I would look forward to her telling me about her loving memories. If it wasnt about her loving Thomas,it was about her sweet Candice, and if it wasnt about her Jewel Dennis. It was about her first true love.Whom now she has reunited with.Bertha will be missed, but never forgotten.Damaris Ginorio

Candace

I'm very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I remember you and your mom from when I was a little girl in Toleston and our family lived on the next block. We moved when I was about seven years old, but I still remember going to your house to play with you and visit your family. My family, the Kalberers, also went to St. John's Lutheran Church and school. My deepest sympathy goes to you and your family at this time. I know she is with our Savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven.

I was sad when I read the notice of the passing of Mrs. Hodges. She assisted in my upbringing at St. Johns' as a sunday school and vacation bible school teacher. As a teenager I worked with her at Jacobsen's office supply. She was always kind and ready to help me as I was learning the job.My heart is with the family at this time. She will be missed. Fifty years ago I graduated from Kouts High School, and we now live near Cincinnati. I read the obituaries on line from the Times. Today when I saw Bertha's announcement, my first thought was that I have no idea whether we have ever met. However, I am a cousin to Hans Langbehn and Annie Hamann, and we've always felt like we were "part of the Langbehn family". Since my parents Fred ("Rosie") & Mary Hamann are both deceased, my wife Sue and I send our family's condolences upon your loss, even though Ron Langbehn is probably the last family member we've seen for years.
