Bettye Joyce Robinson

1942 - 2021

Bettye Joyce Robinson was born to the late Wilson B. McMillian and Legirtha Milsap on August 16, 1942, in Laurel, Mississippi. She came to Gary, Indiana in 1958. Bettye attended and graduated from Frobel High School in 1962. In 1975 Bettye gave her life to God and became a member of House of Prayer C.O.G.I.C. She later joined God's Way Church of Deliverance where she was an avid member and head mother of the Mother's Board. On December 12, 2021, God took Bettye by her hand and lead her home. She is preceded in death by her parent, son Lance (Todd) Robinson, 6 sisters, 4 brothers. Bettye leaves to cherish her warm and special memories loving husband Lawrence Robinson; stepmother Urie Lee McMillian; three children Letha Yvette Robinson, Lawrence (Carla) Robinson II and Lee(Moniece) Robinson; 2 sisters; 1 God sister; 6 brothers; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one special niece Tesha Arrington; two special friends Earnestine (Johnny) Sparks and Deloris Tolbert; three special Goddaughters Yolanda LaMarr, LaNita (Sheron)Smith and Carla A. Toney and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 9:00a.m.-11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. all services at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue. Pastor Gregory Williams officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
