Calvin "Big Chris" William Christopher, 99, of Merrillville, Indiana, passed away August 29, 2015. Calvin is survived by his wife Delores Christopher, sons Moran Rice and Leon (Yvetta) Kendrick, grandchildren Greshawn Kendrick, Serrita Davis, Marsheena Hart, Marissa Kendrick, Marshawna Kendrick, and many loving great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Calvin was a member of the Serenity Club in Gary, Indiana for more than 20 years. You could always find him there, helping others, until he could no longer attend due to illness. He enjoyed talking about current events and was always there to help his family. Visitation will be Friday September 4, 2015 from 9:00-10:00 AM. Family hour 10-11:00 a.m. Funeral services for Calvin will be at 11:00 AM all services at Cornerstone M.B. Church, 3949 Massachusetts St., Gary, Indiana. Calvin will be laid to rest at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, in Elwood, Illinois.
