Carole McCord Obituary

McCord, Carole A. Age 75, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Carole was born on November 2, 1936 in Indianola, Illinois to Carl and Frances Owen. She worked as a nurse in labor and delivery at St. Mary Medical Center. Carole will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Carole is survived by her husband, David; 2 sons, Michael (Gayle) McCord of Beaumont, TX and Kevin McCord of Hobart; daughter, Marcia (Rod Ruess) Kertz of Hobart; 11 grandchildren, Carolyn Heckler, Joel Kertz, Suzanne Kertz, Michael Lowell, Brandon McCord, Brian McCord, Elena McCord, Jessica McCord, Kevin McCord, Jr., Satin McCord, and Kristen (Jeremy) Swindle; many great grandchildren, and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service for Carole will be Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. Richard Brown officiating. There will be a graveside committal service following the funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Illinois. A visitation for Carole will be Friday, April 27, 2102 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of Carol. I know she meant a lot to everyone.If one word describes my memories of her it is "FUN". Her and Davie (and Mike, Marcia, and Kevin) always "MADE" my visits to Indiana very special.
