Charles Anthony Guthrie departed this life on October 19, 2021 at age 60. He was born September 28, 1961 in East St. Louis, IL. Charles and his fiance: Donna Lear, were settled in Merrillville, IN. He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist/Communications Operator, awarded the following medals: Army Commendation, Army Achievement, Twice Good Conduct, National Defense Service, and Ribbons: Army Service, Overseas Service, M16 Rifle Marksman, NCO Professional Development Ribbon. Preceded in death by father Charlie Guthrie and brother Michael Guthrie. He leaves behind to cherish his fond memories loving fiancé Donna Lear; children Antionette (Rickey) Johnson, Candice (Terrance) Kemp Wells, Antwan (Connie)Guthrie, Jacquina, and Charless; stepchildren Iris Wilson, Antonio Wilson, Antjuan Bingham, Freddrick Smith, and Shunekia Smith; mother Georgia May; siblings Johnny Guthrie, Belinda Walls, Debra (Charles) Williams, Janice (Bryan) Patterson, Phillip(Rosalind) Guthrie, Kevin (Robin) Guthrie, Angela (Vince) McCorkle, Audrey White, Rickey (Karen)Cooper, and Maurice (Gwendolynn) Cooper; grandchildren: Nizjae, Imani, Keiahjah, Jordyn, Mariah, Trey, Tamiera, Kevin, Jonae, Legatee and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation, Saturday October 30,2021 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. all services Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church 2323 W 11th Ave, Gary IN 46404. Bishop Norman Hairston officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Due to Covid 19 Masks and Social Distancing required.
