Charles J. "Charlie" Larkin Jr.

Larkin, Charles "Charlie" James, Jr. Of Gary, Indiana returned to his heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, which was also his birthday He was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Charlie was a graduate of St. Ignatius Catholic H.S, later attending Truman Junior College, Chicago, IL; he also joined the US Army where he was honorably discharged. Charlie was a licensed Electrical Journeyman for Bethlehem Steel for over 25 years before retiring and becoming the owner of Charlie's Coney Island in Gary, Indiana. Charlie's parents the late Charlie Sr. & Evelyn "Tee" Larkin, his daughter Nicole Larkin and his brother James Larkin, preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn a loving wife Teresa, his brother Robert Larkin, his sons Charles Alonzo Larkin (Lisa), and Lamar (Precious) Larkin and his daughter Heather (Anthony) Lindsay, his extended family Felicia Robinson, Dominique Robinson, Teven Hartfield, Bennie Hartfield IV, his 8 grandchildren Lamaryon Larkin, Lamariona Larkin, Reniqua Thomas, Jameel Larkin, Bennie Hartfield V, Tiffany Lindsay, Joy Lindsay, Kimberly Lindsay, his aunt Vinie "Honey" Larkin, his special cousins Vivian Freeman, Yvonne Larkin, Doris Rose (JC), Albert Larkin and Edward (Valerie) Larkin a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 1:00pm 8:00pm; the family will have Family Hours between 5:00pm 7:00pm at Manuel Memorial Funeral Home, 421 West 5th Avenue, Gary, IN 46402. The Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012, 11:00am at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 W. 21st Ave, Gary, IN with Pastor Charles l. Emery officiating. Charlie's final resting place will be Ridgelawn Cemetary, Gary, IN. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Manuel Memorial Funeral Home, 421 West 5th Avenue, Gary, IN 46402.
