Clarence Wirtz Obituary

CLARENCE C. WIRTZ Age 86 of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 17, 2004 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Crown Point. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 1 daughter, Helen (Gene) Giorgio of Crown Point; 1 son, Michael (Tina) Wirtz of Crown Point; 8 grandchildren, Christine Martin, Philip, Catherine & Stephen Giorgio, Anne, Elizabeth, Joseph & Daniel Wirtz; 1 brother, Leo Wirtz; 2 sisters, Sister Anne Wirtz and Therese Smock. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne Martin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Geisen Funeral Home, Crown Point, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point, with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crown Point. Friends may call at Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East St., Crown Point, on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Mr. Wirtz was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was retired from U.S. Steel with over 42 years of service; an usher at the church for many years and an Army Veteran of World War II. Memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Community Schools or Andrean High School.
