David Koby Obituary

DAVID JOSEPH KOBY Kentland, Indiana David Joseph Koby, age 61, of Kentland died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 6:40AM at his residence. Born December 11, 1947 in Merrillville, Indiana to the late Joseph and Donna Ellis Koby, his mother survives. He married Ruby Craft on September 27, 1981 in Plymouth, Indiana and she survives. Mr. Koby was a deputy sheriff for 22 years attaining the rank of corporal. He is survived by eight children, Drake Koby of Lake Station, Melissa (husband Randy) Hostetler of Cromwell, IN, Joanna (husband Jerry) Smith of Somerville, OH, Joseph Koby of Kentland, Roger (wife Ricki ) Holdeman of South Bend, Vickie Jo Briones of Poland, Rose Sneddon of Poland, and Paula (husband Dave) Lanham of Colorado Springs, CO; three brothers, Tom Koby , Jeff Koby and Ernie Garus all of St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Sue Bible of Nixon, MO, Cindy Garus of LaPorte, and Robin Woodworth of Plymouth; 11 Grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father; and half sister, Pam Koby. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10AM (CDT) at the McMullan-Stitz Funeral Home, Kentland, Reverend Marcia Smith-Wood officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2009 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of David Koby may be made at the Kentland Bank, PO BOX 145, Kentland, IN 47951. www.stitzfuneralhome.com.
