Dorothy Smith Obituary

DOROTHY L. SMITH Winfield/Crown Point Dorothy L. Smith, age 77, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point. Dorothy was an area resident for the past 2 years and a former longtime Chicago, Illinois resident for 30 years. She and her husband retired and enjoyed 15 years in the Houghton Lake, Michigan area. Dorothy was a member of the Church of the Four Seasons United Methodist. She is survived by 4 children: Lachlan (Janet) DeSmith of St. Louis, MO, Karen (Derek) Liwoch of Round Lake Heights, Illinois, Iris (Mark) Varlan of Lakes of the Four Seasons, Jesse Smith of Hinsdale, IL; also 4 grandchildren: Eryca DeSmith; Daltyn, Cameron and Evrett Varlan; and her brother, Judson (Dotty) Parkhurst of Dayton, OH. Her husband, Norris L. Smith, preceded her in death in 2006. Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Four Seasons United Methodist, located at 9100 East 109th Avenue, Crown Point/Winfield, with Mr. James Parkhurst, officiating.
