Eileen Albers

EILEEN ALBERS (NEE SCHLEHMAN) Age 68 of Hobart passed away Monday, March 8, 2004. She was a Hobart resident since 1962 and was formerly a Gary resident. She was retired from Schultz Bros. Dime Store and also volunteered as a Pink Lady for the Saint Mary Medical Center Auxiliary. Eileen was a longtime member of St. Bridget Church. One of her favorite things to do was read. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert Albers of Hobart; 3 daughters, Julianna Newman of Madawaska, ME, Laura (Dean) Moretton of Valparaiso, Shelley (Keith) Pitchford of Dyer; 1 brother, Gil Schlehman of Downers Grove, IL; 8 grandchildren, Shannon Matute, Shawn and Carlina Newman, Ryan, Alan, and Russell Morreton, Adare and Garron Pitchford; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Agnes Schlehman. Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. with Saint Mary Medical Center Auxiliary services at 3 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. directly at St. Bridget Church, 568 East 2nd Street, Hobart with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating, additional visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
