Estelle Hollis

Estelle Hollis, 100 years of age, of Merrillville, IN passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 22, 2021. Estelle was born on February 18th, 1921 in Columbia, Missouri to the late Henry and Bessie Thornton. She was a proud member of Lady Excelsior of East Chicago, IN for over 20 years. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ocie Lee Hollis; siblings: Louise Walton, William & Phillip Thornton and Gayle Townsend; son-in-law, Victor King and special nieces: Donna Cobb and Debra Golden. She leaves to cherish her legacy, daughters: Anita King and Linda (David Marovich) Parker; grandson, Carl R. Parker; great grandson, Justin Parker; great granddaughter, Berkleigh Hollis Parker; niece, Stephanie Coats; nephews: Robert Anthony Cobb, Nyles Walton, Dorn Thornton and Victor Thornton; special friends, Susie Johnson and Thomas McLaurin, god-son John Wilcox; god daughter Toni Wilcox and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation: March 3, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave., Gary, IN. Interment: Fern Oaks Cemetery.
