GENIE A. MEYERS Crown Point, Indiana Genie A. Meyers age 71, of Crown Point, IN passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Genie was a graduate of South Shore High School, Chicago, IL. She attended nursing school at the South Chicago Community Hospital and then served as an Operating Room Surgical Technician at Munster Community Hospital. She was a member of the Hobart Elk's Lodge #1152. She was an avid reader, gardener, nature watcher, shopper, traveler, gamer, and cook. She was preceded in death by loving husband, Charles A. Meyers Jr., and mother, Thelma Baskerville-Hodock, father-in-law, Charles A. Meyers, Sr., and mother-in-law Joan Emmons-Meyers. She is survived by 3 children, Christopher Meyers of Gary, IN, Clifford Schaufele of Steger, IL, and Kimberly Schaufele of Lowell, IN; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Brandt of Naples, FL, Amber Schaufele of Tallahassee, FL, and Ashley Schaufele of Elgin, IL; loving & loyal canine companion Maxine; and a host of relatives & close friends. Special friends include Sharon Mersch, Ruth Metts, and Thelma DiPaolo. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Family hour from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services on Sunday, March 15, 2009, 2 p.m. also at Burns Funeral Home.
