Geraldine McKinney

1929 - 2022

Geraldine McKinney was born July 21, 1929, to the late Gus and Hattie Robinson in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir until they closed their doors. Geraldine loved to cook and love doing fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association. Preceded in death by her husband Arthur L. McKinney Sr.; son Donald L. McKinney, Charles R. Austin; stepson Arthur L. McKinney Jr.; sisters Mrytle Tennant, Carolyn Taylor and Daisy Card; brothers; William, James, and Samuel Robinson. She leaves to cherish her fonded and loving memories three sons Michael and Kevin McKinney of Gary, Indiana and Ronald McKinney of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Jacqueline Crowder of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter-in-law Pamela Austin of Crown Point, Indiana; brother-in-law Lamar Taylor of Gary, Indiana; two granddaughters Meosha Austin and Asia Austin of Crown Point, Indiana; three step-grandchildren Kim Phillips, Deron Phillips and Ruzell McKinney of South Bend, Indiana and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. all services at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue. Rev Bernard Carter officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
