To the Fleming family,

I have known Greg for a long time and his love and spirit will never be forgotten. It's wierd because I just ran into Greg a couple of days before this incident happened and his sense of humor had not change from when we were in middle school. He will truly be missed but never forgotten.

Love,

I am still in a state of shock that this has happened. Greg was such a WONDERFUL person and even more a GREAT friend to me. When I think back to when I met him, I laugh. We were both pretty new to Merrillville and we just clicked.

Later to find out that he was good friends with my son's late father, Fred. All the years thru highschool together and the trouble we would find ourselves in. After graduation, making that journey down 65 to visit him in Indianapolis. It really breaks my heart because the last time I talked to him, it was his birthday about 4yrs ago. We had lost touch, but he was still on my mind. Always wondering what he was up to and how things were going in his life. It's a reminder to me, too stay in touch with everyone I hold close to my heart. Everytime I think of him, I see his smile. That smile was worth a million (those braces paid off)! To ALL of his family, especially Beverly, who I know was Greg's BEST FRIEND, I keep you in my thoughts and prayers. We know now that we all have a special angel to watch over us.

VIRGO'S FOREVER!!!!!

I remeber walking through the halls at Merrillville High or hanging outside the cafeteria after lunch. It was there you could here that distinct laugh. It was Greg's. For those of us who went there from 1994-1996, high school was an experience. We there weren't many of us so we had to stick together. We were like one BIG family. So it's like we've all lost a brother. Greg you will be missed.

To the family of this great young man I leave you with this. "There is no sadness Jesus can't fill. There is no sorrow he can not heal." May God comfort your heart durring this time of hurt. God has called his servant home.

I am saddened by the news of Greg's passing. I met Greg at Harrison Jr. High, when I had him and Dante Williams in class, he was someone throughout high school that I was "cool" with. I will never forget the talk we had in Physics class, when he told me not to give up. His family and friends are in my prayers.

To Cousins Greg & Beverly Fleming and my COUSIN Latoya Smith,

I just wanted to send my deepest condolences to you all. Though I am extremely hurt by this loss, I know it doesn't compare to what you all are feeling. One of my biggest regrets in life will be that me and Greg didn't make more time to spend with each other, but I do thank God for the time that he did give us together and for the conversations we had.

RIP Cuzzo!!! I'll never forget you.

Greg is greatly missed at Dart Controls. His "shoes" will never be filled the same. I miss him, my associates miss him and our customers miss him. Greg built a special rapport with our associates and with our customers who very much appreciated his help with many, many technical problems. Many times, I overheard bits of telephone conversations Greg would have with our customers. Here is a short list of attributes Greg tirelessly displayed with our customers: thorough, patient, understanding, empathetic, detailed technical expertise in troubleshooting problems over the telephone. Greg sought to really understand and communicate clearly over the telephone. I have many positive 'customer feedback sheets' from people who Greg repaired their controls and worked with over the telephone to help them troubleshoot a technical problem. The world operates technically much better due to Greg's many daily conversations resolving countless challenges in many industries oftentimes with equipment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Greg came to their rescue! One time, a customer so greatly appreciated Greg's help that he sent Greg a statue of a fisherman with "Greg" noted on it. Greg not only had the "technical" aspects of his career well in-place, but Greg also had the very delicate "human" aspects well in-place (much to his credit) that all of us appreciate in our interactions with each other.

I would like to make a copy (for Greg's son and future appreciation) of a few of the "customer feedback" sheets so he may better appreciate what a great father he had. Please feel free to contact me for them at my email address. The world is a better place because Greg was an active part of it bringing a personality of sunshine, hope, respect, and a positive personality... all characteristics reflecting the Love of God Greg had in his heart. May the Loved Ones of Greg's be blessed and comforted, I pray.... Robert Bell, Quality Assurance Manager, Dart Controls, Inc., Zionsville, Indiana

To Gregory & the entire Fleming Family-

I just received the news of your loss on Sunday evening. Certainly I was devastated, but not like you must feel.

When faced with any heartfelt situation, I find comfort in the scriptures. I would like to share a couple of scritpures with you.

John 7:38 says "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."

1 Thessalonians 4:13 - 14 says - "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."

Remember, God can do anything but fail.

I'm praying for you and the family, and I look forward to seeing you and the family soon.

God bless you.

Love,

your cousin,

Jerry.

Greg,

I will never forget you. I will never forget cracking jokes with you on the school bus to Merrillville High. I will never forget the way you believed in my voice and my talent, and the way u were a brother to me. I love you always and I wanted to share a poem I wrote for your family and friends.

Why are you crying as if I am gone?

Don’t you realize I’ve completed my journey home?

Why are you sad as if I’m not really here?

Don’t you know in your heart I will always be near?

When I got to the stairs of heaven my Father awaited me.

He told me He loved me and He’d waited patiently.

I told Him my family might be in much pain.

He gave me these words to help stop the rain.

I’ll relay them to you so listen as you grieve.

I hope this will help you understand why I had to leave.

My heart was so empty although it was full from your love.

I was happy with you, but I longed for Heaven up above.

Please don’t miss me things are not what they seem.

You can always talk to me and see me whenever you dream.

I am not in pain nor am I in sorrow.

My Father told me I’ll become an angel tomorrow.

So please know I’ll be right above you, to guide you and cuddle you

To kiss you, to hold you, and certainly to love you.

One day I will meet you face to face.

I’ll show you around this wonderful place.

Until that moment hold your heads up high.

I’ll be looking down upon you from that deep blue sky.

If ever you need me, at any time or any day.

I will always be listening when you kneel down to pray.

So smile and rejoice with no hesitation.

Hallelujah!!! You’ve just witnessed my graduation.

You will be missed, but your spirit will carry on.

Toy and the family of Greg, I want to express my deepest sympathy. I know that there is a void in your hearts from this dear lost. When every thing is said and done, everybody leaves and you're all alone you must call on GOD because is your only comfort. August 17, 2004 marked a heartrending day for me. I will truly miss Greg from that huge hug I got every time I seen him to those calls just to say what's up. We all live knowing that, that one day will come. GOD will call. And when GOD calls, we must go, but when death calls one of the good ones, someone who always had a nice word to say, one who was always laughing and who brightens up the day with that big smile, it's always painful. Greg was a well mannered young man, a well suited gentleman if I might add. Greg will truly be missed. Vonye'

To the Fleming Family,

I want to send my condolences and my prays in your time of sorrow. My heart is sadden from losing a person (physically) that I shared most of my childhood memories with. From sleep overs, eating pork and beans, riding bikes, and even breaking my leg, where Greg found help. Even though we did not keep in touch often, every time we talked, we picked up right where we left off. I know you have touched many peoples’ lives and your work is done on earth, let your legacy live through your son.

God Bless from the Corral Family.

To the Fleming family, May God take you in his arms of comfort during this tragic event.

I will always remember that little boy whose bright eyes and cheerful smile melted my heart every time he knocked on my door looking for his friend. As he grew up, he spoke whenever he saw me and would ask if I knew who he was. Though he changed from that little boy, those eyes and that smile always gave him away. I will never forget you Gregory

Greg's family lived 2 doors from us during adolesence and we didn't see him again until he stopped by to visit my wife and I last year. We were so proud of him. The child had grown into a PRINCE. He was a very bright and handsome young man that we had a hand in forming. He grew up to be the exact man we all wanted him to be. We mourn this tragedy. Greg Fleming II was the son every family tries to create.

Bevery,

Only knowing Greg for a short period of time and reading the wonderful acknowledgements of him via is peers and friends, I am glad I got the opportunity to meet him. When I first met Greg he opened up his arms and gave me the tighest hug as if he had known me and was happy to see me. I knew then he was a warm and loving person. I will always remember that kind act. God will continue to give you the strength during and after your bereavement period that you will surely need while going through this most difficult time.
