GROTHA MCCLAIN
Gary, Indiana
Age 77 of Gary, IN passed Thursday, Mach 25, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospital. He was a retired teacher with the Chicago Board of Education. Grotha was a faithful member of New Revelation Baptist Church and a member and former President of the Male Chorus, Gospel Chorus, Trustee Board and Chairman of Christian Education. He was a member of the Chicago Teachers Union, American Federation of Teachers, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He is survived by wife, Marian McClain; daughters, Brigette McClain, Susan Chaney and Tanya McClain; son Jay McClain; sisters, Margaret (Joseph) Hynes, and Lurlee (Don) White; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, April 2, 2010 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. All services at New Revelation Baptist Church, 3140 W. 21 Ave. Rev. R.T. Mitchell, officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.

Hi Dad, I saw your pictures today from your visit to cali and smiled with all the beautiful memories that we had. We miss you, and I personally want to thank you again, for being a wonderful father to Jay and to the girls. You and mom raised a wonderful family and I thank God all of you are now part of my life. He's now with a host of saints. Ms.Ella is there as well. She transitioned on 1/21/10 and has received total healing.
