Gunda was my Aunt from my fathers side of the family (Cleo). To my cousins Janet, Judith, and Ramona my thoughts and prayers are with you and our extended families. God bless you and keep you and give you strength and understanding over your loss

Mrs. Diehl was my Girl Scout leader in Hammond for many years. She was a wonderful leader. We went on trips to the state capital where we served as pages in the state house. We got snowed in coming home and had to spend a few days at Purdue University! Mrs. Diehl expanded our horizons and I will never forget her. We even got an impromptu tour of a fire house in Chicago. Mrs. Diehl met a fireman and convinced him that our troop should stop by. The first trip through there was a calendar with a naked woman. On the way back through the lady was covered with a hankerchief!

Mrs. Diehl was my Girl Scout Troop leader in Hammond for many years. She was nothing short of a human dynamo. Under her leadership, we learned about how our government worked, we did good works for the community, we camped, made sit-up-ons, sold lots of Girl Scout cookies, and sang. Boy, did we sing. I still remember all the words to "The Cannibal King" even though I learned the song well over 40 years ago. She was firm, but kind, and a great inspiration to all the young girls of Troop 149. She was a gem. We aging former Girl Scouts are left to treasure her memory. My heart-felt sympathies to her family.
