Jeffrey L. Shaffer

JEFFREY L. SHAFFER Chesterton, Indiana Age 40, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso, IN. Born January 20, 1966 in Valparaiso to parents, David and Diana Jones Shaffer. He formerly worked as a cranesman for Midwest Steel. Jeff served in the National Guard for seven years. He was a member of the Chesterton Moose Lodge and American Legion Post #170. He was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed bowling, shooting pool and throwing horseshoes. He was also a great fan of the Chicago White Sox and Oakland Raiders. Survivors: 3 sons, John Shaffer of Indianapolis, IN, Jimmy Shaffer and Jake Shaffer both of Valparaiso, IN; parents, David and Diana Shaffer of Chesterton; sisters, Jodi (Bob) Jaeger of Haughton, LA, Jennifer (Jim) Longfellow of Muncie, IN, Joanna (Doug) Judy of DeMotte, IN; caring aunts & uncles and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Visitation Friday, July 7, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chester-ton, IN. Funeral services Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Roger D. Huiti officiating. Interment Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN.
