My thoughts and prayers go out to my best friend Sarah, Jason, Rick and Shannon and the entire Simpson family! I will never forget the time Jeremy went to Chicago with all of us friends and came back to my parents house at 3:00 am and he was talking like a girl and my dad was yelling telling us to tell that girl to be quiet!! It was one of the million funny things Jeremy did that always stuck in my head. He will be greatly missed, he was a beautiful person inside and out and was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother , and friend to all. Sarah you will always have him by your side watching over you. I love you!!

Jeremy will be truly missed. It has been years since I have seen him but we were good friends in high school. I know how much he truly loved Sarah and his children as well as his family. He was an upstanding man and had the kindest soul. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to all of those who loved him. May peace find you all.

Jeremy was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He had a great sense of humor and was a force to be reckoned with on the field. Yet, a huge teddy bear in life and treasured every moment he shared with him family and friends. He will be missed by all who had the privelge of knowing him.
You are awesome

Jeremy was the by far the best little brother a big brother could ask for. Not only was he my brother, he was also my best friend. Jeremy and I talked on the phone everyday. He was the first person i would call every morning. If i had a break at work i would call him or he would do the same. I would call my dads cell phone and he would be talking to jeremy on the home phone. My dad would put both phones on speaker and the three of us would talk about our day. Jeremy loved sarah and his kids more than anything. He did whatever he had to for them. He was so proud. I love my brother so much. Jeremy i will miss more than you will ever know. I love you jeremy.

I have read all the wonderful messages that you have received and I really thought it would make this a little easier to express how much Jeremy, my Uncle Ricky and their beautiful families mean to me and my family. To Ricky, I just want you to know that there isn't a better father then yourself and you made Jeremy who he was, which was an amazing person!! To Shannon, you have also inspired these boys, Jason, Jeremy, Andrew, and Riley to be the best they can be! Not only the best person they can be but to be wise and to think before you leap. I feel if Jeremy could say one more thing to all of you. it would be thank you and that he loved you so much. To Sarah, you have continued on were it was time for Ricky and Shannon to let go, you have done the wonderful job of creating amazing people. Your children are so lucky to have you and also to have had a father like Jeremy. I love you guys so much and I truly want you to know if you ever need any thing or just need to talk and have someone listen I'M HERE!!

Rick & Jan & Simpson family,
We were very sad to hear about Jeremy passing away from such a horrific accident. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. I was Jeremy's Sunday School teacher at EastLake Baptist Church when is was a little guy. I will never forget him! He was such a sweet young boy. The next time I saw him, he was all grown up and such a fine young man! We are so thankful he was a born-again Christian! The Robbins family will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you all!

Dear Rick and Shannon:
our thoughts are with you in this time of grief and sorrow. It is so wrong that a good young man is taken from us so soon leaving a terrible void in so many family members life. Please keep your peace and try not to be bitter and feel guilty about how it might have been. I know he would not want you to do this. If there is any thing we could do please ask. may God bless you and keep you. WE remain your friends and neighbors

Sarah,
I saw your write up in today's new paper. I could never imagine what it would be like in your position. I knew Jeremy thru his father Rick. I worked with Rick at Allied Mineral in Gary years back. You said you wanted us to share stories about Jeremy with you. Jeremy was always an outgoing person. His football years always had him going. I remember when he'd call into work to speak to his dad. The thing that mostly stuck out was that there was NEVER a time when Rick would hang up the phone and not tell his boys he loved them. How important those few words can be in one's life. The thing about it is his boys ALWAYS said it back to their father without hesitation. You could tell that the Simpson boys were raised in a loving caring home. I never recalled a time when the boys were doing wrong, but they are boys, and I just heard parts of their stories. It is amazing how loving you will be able to tell your children their father was.....even before you knew them! I only hope for the best for you and your children. They surely have a loving mother, father, aunts, uncles, grandfather's and grandmother's who will always love them. May they carry on for you the love that Jeremy brought to so many in his life.

What a great guy taken way too soon. Sarah, Jason, and family and friends-You are in my thoughts and prayers. I had the honor of knowing Jeremy. Sarah, we have never met, but I hope it gives you comfort to know that you and your children are thought about every day. The last time I saw Jeremy was about 2 years ago and he took a picture out of his wallet and showed it to me. He said, “This is my son, Jake”. He was so proud… What a brave person you are to move forward in life and teach your children that their father was such a brave and kindhearted man. I am sure Jeremy is looking down upon all of us. Someone once told me, “Life just isn’t fair”. Well, this has proven true. Please hang in there and know that we all love you guys and wish you nothing but strength and courage for the future.

This has been unbelievable. I know that Jeremy loved you and your children with all his heart and soul. He could not have been more proud. I do not even know you personally, but you and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers every day. Your strength in this situation will only build your future and show what a truly amazing person that you are. Someone once said, “Life is just not fair”, and THAT it is NOT. Please hang in there and know we are all here for you in heart, mind, soul, and in every and any other way imaginable. All who knew Jeremy are very blessed to have had him as a part of our lives. God bless you, and Jeremy's ENTIRE family forever…

A friend phoned to tell me of Jeremy’s passing, and even though I have not seen Jeremy since high school, I was stunned. Although those days of sledding and backyard football in The Lakes of the Four Season were years ago, the memories have yet to fade. Jeremy, Josh Skidmore, and I had some great times. When Crown Point played Hobart in football, I enjoyed squaring off on the gridiron against such a good buddy. To hear of this tragedy which took him way too early from his family and friends, fills me with great sadness. I wish you the best moving forward. Farewell, “Big Guy”!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I will never forget the time Jeremy was trying to get my two year old son to talk to him. I was starting to tell Jeremy it takes him awhile to warm up to people. Before i even finished my sentence my son was up in his lap, laughing and acting like he had known him forever. Jeremy had a way with people. He had a very gentle soul and touched alot of people's lives with it. Why god had to take him so soon we will never know. But he will definitely not be forgotten.
