John Biffle

1925 - 2015

Of Gary, IN. John Henry Biffle, Sr. age 89, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, IN. He was born May 9, 1925 in Livingston, AL. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie Mae Biffle; parents, Oscar and Roxie Biffle; son, Burton Biffle and daughter, Brenda Smith. John is survived by his loving sons, John Biffle, Jr.; Gordon Biffle and Stevie Biffle; daughters, Alantha Spence, Barbara (Jackey) Fisher, Larcile Gilmore, Frenetta (David) Green, Debra Johnson and Thelma Fort; son-in-law, Solomon Smith; one brother; three sisters; a host of other loving family members. John retired from US Steel Mill in 1987. He was a deacon at Christian Valley M.B. Church. John served proudly in the U.S. Army where he received an Honorably Discharge in 1946. He will be remembered as a loving and kind person. 1st Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with Family Hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 1910 Adams Street, Gary, IN 46407. 2nd Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor De' Won Bynum officiating. Interment will be in the Veteran's Section at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN. John will be deeply missed by his loving, devoted family and precious friends. God Grant Him Eternal Peace.
