Our deepest condolences to Joe's family and friends. You don't know us, but my mother and I are sitting here together, and she read to me your tribute that you wrote in The Times. It was the sweetest obituary that made us laugh so hard through the whole thing that we had tears rolling down our cheeks, as we could feel the love that was expressed. We had to read it a second time because it was so sweet and laughed just as hard. We felt the need to send our condolences to all of you and our gratitude for making our hearts smile through your kind (and funny) words about Joe. Take good care of each other and keep searching for those mushrooms.

Joe was one of a kind & everyone loved him. He has been a friend since 3rd grade at St. Bridget's School. He had a sense of humor like nobody else (and it looks like his children have inherited the same sense of humor). Joe will be missed - we are praying for you dear friend & if Tom were still alive he would be wishing you God Speed.
