Joseph B. White Sr.

1929 - 2021

Joseph Benjamin "Chico" White Sr. was born on March 27, 1929, in Gary, Indiana. He was a member at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Trustee Board, Benevolence Ministry, Male Chorus, and drove the church van. He attended Gary Roosevelt High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was Honorably discharged. He went on to work at U. S. Steel Tin Mill Plant for 30 years, he went on to work for C & H Medical Transport for many years. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Franciscan Health in Crown Point, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Lelia White Sr., sister, Mary Katherine White Hawkins, brother, James O. White Jr., grandchildren Joseph White III and Kenyota White, niece and nephew Lelia Rose Broadnax and Primie J. Seay. He leaves to cherish his memory: children Michelle White, Joseph (Llana) White Jr., Kim (Donald) Roby, five grandchildren, Chiana Goodlett, Cameron Roby, Marcus White, Dominique Campbell, Paige Roby, fourteen great grandchildren, six great- great grandchildren, four nieces, five nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews, loving cousin Donald Garrett, and caregiver, Linda Mitchell. Visitation Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 9 to 11:00am with funeral services to follow at 11:00am all services at the Trinity Baptist Church, 1831 Virginia St. Officiating Rev. Dwight Gardner. Entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Services will be live stream @ Guy & Allen Funeral Directors on Facebook.
