To the family of Kelvin "Tyrone" Miles:
We at First Church of Deliverance and Recovery where our Pastor is Alphonso Smith Sr. wish to let you know that we have and will continue to keep you all lifted up in prayer.
As you experience the roller coaster of emotions please consider these steps you can take when it feels like your world is falling apart:
Give yourself the grace to be whoever you need to be at that moment. You don't have to be the strong person that everyone knows or even thinks you are! If you need sleep, sleep! Need a good cry, cry! Take care of your body. Consider what might help you to feel better: a certain food, a hot bath, healing inspirational music? Treat yourself, pamper yourself.
Seek out your best support system. Maybe it's a support group at your church. Perhaps the companionship of a good Christian friend is the best thing for you right now.
If certain situations are certain to create deeper sorrow for you, avoid them. Learn how to say, "No," when you need to. Set boundaries. And remember that “grieving is a process” that has no set time limit, but varies from one to another.

Forever In His Service… Be Blessed

My deepest condolences to the Miles family. Tyrone was a true friend. Our loss is heavens gain. Rest in Heaven.

My family met Tyrone through my sister Cru back when they were in jr. high or high school. Tyrone became and stayed friends with each and everyone of us including my mom and dad and my children. He was more than a friend, he was family. He had a very kind and loving spirit and was always, always, always willing to help someone in need. He always had a kind and encouraging word. Tyrone, you are loved and will be missed dearly. Rest in Heaven dear brother.

My first cousin and one of my very first best friends! I can not even begin to put into words what your friendship has meant to me over these 44 years. I use to hate when you called me "BUNGA" which is the childhood nickname your father gave me. As I got older I grew to love the nickname as you made it more comical than dreadful. "Bunga became Slunga" and I answered to it!

I just can not believe that our road has come to a STOP! I will miss you but I have to understand that you are truly resting now and no longer in pain or any other form of discomfort.

You had a way of developing meaningful relationships with people. My husband Steve affectionally refer to you as one of his bestfriend. My children often talked about your kindness towards them and how geniune you were.

Tyrone, I will ALWAYS love you and I will always REMEMBER you and the laughs that you naturally brought out of the people around you. I will NEVER forget that from your sick bed you gave my mother money to purchase fruit to make a fruit salad for my going away/45th birthday party. Only you Tyrone, Only Y-O-U! Heaven has truly gained an angel....

Tyrone my first cousin I just want to say cuz I'm going to miss you but I know you are in a better place now that you don't have to have worry about nothing anymore so you just take it easy and God Bless You! Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel to hear that he is no longer among us. May your soul rest in peace. May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort the (MILES FAMILY) and help us all overcome this loss.

There are very few memories of my childhood that do not include you. For as long as my memory will allow, you were a constant companion. I remember you sneaking out of your house in the mornings to come down and sit on our porch, waiting until 8:00 so you could knock on the door to see if we could come outside. You knew if you knocked a moment before then, my mom would fuss at you: "Tyrone, do NOT knock on this door before 8:00 in the morning!"

All of the walks to Washington, Tolleston, and West Side for recreation...the fireworks in the middle of Williams Street, playing piggy in the backyard, pretending Mr. Geeter buried his wife in the alley (we said that was her hand sticking out of the ground), the time you shaved one of your eyebrows just to see how you would look (like a CLOWN. I think we laughed about that for a good year)....playing it at night after we checked in (had to be in by the time the street lights came on)... I could go on and on because I have so many fond memories.

I remember when we told you we were moving away and how we all cried together and I hugged you (finally...because you were a boy and had cooties so I couldn't let you hug me). We were never going to find another friend like you.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to reminisce with you and that I that I told you that I loved you the last time I saw you. Yes, I would never say it when we were little because you would have thought I liked you and I would have had to punch you....again. The time we spent together, both in our youth and as adults (no matter how infrequent), I will cherish for a lifetime.

Thank you for the love and the memories. Rest well, my friend. Until that great day!

Word can't express the way I feel right. In the thought that the world has truly lost one of Gods angels on earth. You where not just my friend but my big brother, my super hero is what I called you growing up. My heart is hurting so bad to know I won't get any more calls just to check in on me or see your smiling face and a big hug when I come home. I thank you Tyrone from the bottom of my heart for being that big brother, encourager, and my superhero. You will be truly miss. I love you. Rest in Peace.
