Leon Barnett Sr.

1944 - 2021

Leon Barnett Sr. (Jack) was born September 30, 1944, to the late Willie Barnett and Ellen Huffman Barnett. He worked for Gary U.S. Steel for many years. He was a member of Fresh Anointing and Anointed Vessels for Christ Deliverance Ministry. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a way of making his presence known and he was truly loved and will be missed. Leon is preceded in death by his parents Willie Barnett and Ellen Huffman Barnett, wife Evelyn Barnett Sr., Granddaughter Lakisha Barnett, great-grandsons Joshua Malik and Jeremiah Jaquan Matthews. As he begins his heavenly journey, he leaves behind to cherish his memory: his four children Teresa Barnett, Leon Barnett Jr., Prophetess Tina Barnett, Evelyn Barnett Jr.; grandchildren: Robin Barnett, Michelle'le (Douglas) Jackson, Teena Shorter, special grandson Lamonte Johnson, Erica Owens, Ebony and Eric Anderson, Elijah and Elexa Walton, Tajerica, Deon, Daon, Destiny, and Josiah Barnett, De'Andre Barnett, and Darren Brown. He also leaves his five sisters, Bertha (James) Gaston. Marguerite Barnett, Annie Farrior, Lucille Bailey, and Pastor Pollie (Samuel) Johnson and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and in-laws. Visitation Friday, January 14, 2022, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, January 15, 2022, 2:00 p.m. all services at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue, Gary, IN. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
