I was saddened to learn that Mahlon died. He was such a gentleman. I grew up in Ambridge Methodist Church. My mother was Kay Shafer.
My sympathy is extended to the family.

To the Plumb Family,
So sorry to hear about your father's death. He was a very special person; intelligent, kind, gentle, compassionate and a truly committed Christian. I have such wonderful memories of your parents at City Methodist Church. One of the touching memories was that your parents and mine shared the same wedding anniversary. Your father continued to be a dedicated friend even in the last days of my mother's life. May God's presence be with you all in the coming days.

To the Plumb Family,
We are very sorry for your loss. We knew both Mahlon and Doris at the Merrillville United Methodist Church. They were both very special to us. Even after we moved to Texas, we often spoke of them. We will be thinking of you on the day of the Memorial Service. We will be praying for your family. God bless you all.

We are away and cannot attend the memorial service, but we are thinking of the family and remembering our friendship with Mahlon.
He was a gentleman and an example of how people should live and serve. He made a difference.
