Marcel joined St. John Baptist at a young age. While serving at St. John Church he was in the Sunshine Band & Youth Choir. He attended Roosevelt High School. Preceded in death by great grandparents, Garfield & Irene Hampton; uncle, O'Neal Hampton and aunt, Ethel Hampton and cousin, Montray Harris. He leaves to cherish his memories daughter, Tyjzona Murphy; son, Nasir Murphy; mother, Patricia Murphy; father, Reginald Harris; brother, Richard Harris; grandparents, Frank and Mary Murphy and Richard & Gladys Harris; uncles, Frank (Juanita) Murphy, Jr. of Decatur, GA, Robert Murphy of Gary, Melvin (Earlene) Murphy of Decatur, GA, Bland Harris of Gary, Vincent Harris of California; aunts, Francine (Paul) Reed, Nancy Murphy, both of Stone Mountain, GA, Marilyn (Brian) Mallory of Lithonia, GA, Cynthia (Kenneth) Jolley, Richard C.
