MICHAEL R. GONDELL
Michael R. Gondell, age 82 of Gary, IN, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Claire (nee Persic); three children, Carol (Michael) Shendrick of Ogden Dunes, Michael Gondell of CA, John Gondell of Valparaiso; sister, Eleanor (late George) Strimbu of Gary; two grandsons, Michael and Nicholas Shendrick; one niece and many nephews. Preceded in death by sister, Anna Mae Gondell. Michael was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Gary. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Council and the Sheil Club, Gary. He attended St. Meinrad Seminary for two years and was a retired Systems Analyst from Gary Works, U.S. Steel with 33 years service. After retiring from U.S. Steel, he was employed for many years at Boric Religious Articles, St. John. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 9;30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 330 E. 45th Ave, Gary, With Rev. Stephen Loncar officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Family and friends may share an online condolence or memory at www.pruzinfuneralservice.com.

Mrs. Gondell, Carol, Michael and John,
I was very sad to hear of your loss. I remember my parents always speaking very fondly of him, and your whole family. I also remember seeing him many times at Boric. He was always so pleasant. I will keep you all in my prayers, and know that God will give you the strength to get through this time.
