Minnie Florence Dukes

Minnie Florence Crowder born May 26, 1937, in Grenada, MS to Henry and Mary Nell Crowder. She worked as a nurse at St. Catherine's Hospital. She met her husband, Howard Dukes, Sr. and they married on Aug. 3, 1963. They raised three children, Regina, Howard, and Nicole. She was a member of Logan Park Assembly of Christ Church for over 40 years and served as a member of the Usher Board. Minnie Dukes, wife, mother, nurse, and devoted servant of God was called from her life's work on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard Dukes, Sr., daughter Regina Constance Dukes, mother-in-law Maude Dukes, brothers Glasper Hemphill and Winston Crowder, Henry Crowder Jr., and niece Kim McClendon. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Howard (Gail) Dukes Jr. and daughter Nicole Dukes, four grandchildren Chloe McKenzie Dukes, Howard Wynton Dukes, Katherine Aluara Dukes and Isaac Harmon; sisters Willye Clyde McClendon, Warner (Geneva) Crowder; four nieces, two nephews; cousins Valerie Whiteside, Ray and Delores Turley, sisters in Christ Arnetta Gates, Flora Meeks and Anna Robinson; great neighbors Arleatha Buggs, Kathy Glover and Flora Morgan, many godchildren and countless coworkers at St. Catherine's Hospital, Simmons Nursing Home and many private duty nursing facilities. Visitation Friday, July 1, 2022, at Logan Park Assembly of Christ Church, 1513 Polk St., from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., family hour from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services to follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
