Oscar Rosen

Rosen, Oscar 100 years old, died on June 30, 2012, at Hartsfield Village in Munster. He is survived by his devoted wife Mildred, son Bernard Rosen (Kay) and daughter Margot Kimmel (Joel). He was the loving grandfather of Beth Pasikov, Andrew Kimmel (Lori) John Rosen, Lynn Rosen (Michael Mendelsohn) and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lorraine. Oscar was a lifelong resident of Gary and graduated from Emerson High School. He was President of Superior Beverage Company for 70 years, manufacturing such soft drinks as Waverly, Orange Crush, Dad's Root Beer, Schweppes,and others. He also served on the Board of the Teamster's Local 1040 Health and Welfare Pension Fund for over 30 years. He was also a Director of the Midtown Branch of the Bank of Indiana. Oscar was active in B'nai Brith, bowled, played golf and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. His family appreciates the wonderful care provided by Julie, Debbie, Donna and Jackie, by the Hartsfield staff and by Residential Clinical Services' staff, especially R.N. Susan. Oscar will be lovingly remembered by his family. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 3 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation 1-1:30 at Burns Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN.
