I grew up with Patty as our neighbor in Gary and then in Crown Pointt. I used to love watching her with the CPHS band. My first exposure to Ball State was staying with her in her dorm. She was like a big sister to me for so many years. She was a friend to all. I loved it when Patty would come to our house to swim and hang out. Rest peacefully, Patty. Memories of our families are some of the best of my childhood.

Pat was a power hitter and taught me some valuable lessons on how to chase down foul balls on the fly, and stop bouncing grounders. She was a great teammate on those first All Star teams produced by the girls softball league in Crown Point back in the mid-60's. I recall how she comforted me when I didn't make the "A" Allstars but the "B" team my first year playing (of course she was always on the A team). Never one to condescend to the younger players, with her help I made the A team the next summer, so we were teammates. She had the best arm on the team and could throw the ball accurately at home plate from deep in the outfield. She always was lots of fun, had a big laugh and could be counted on to hit at least one home run each game. I am so sad to hear of her passing. My condolences to her family and friends.

It was an honor and privilege to work for Pat at Children First Center. Pat was a bright light in an sometimes dark and difficult career. Pat saw good in everyone. Rest in peace Pat. The Lord has received a fun and loving Angel.

Dear Zak,
There are not enough words to describe what you have meant to our family. You are one of my mom's oldest and dearest friends dating back to the high school days. You were around when my brother, me, and my sister were born ( and that was a mighty long time ago). You were at every big family event we ever had no matter what the occasion.
You brought so much joy and laughter to our family. In fact, a party was never a party until Pat showed up and that's because you never knew what was going to happen (poor crayon bucket). Kinda like the time you threw your arm around my grandpa to share some of your golfing expertise. Or when me and my brother got you to drink our kool-aid and nerd candy mixture... the face and comment of yours was priceless "That's just rude"... (and we were all on the floor laughing). Of course there are a ton more stories and memories that we will all cherish and never forget.
Your life's work and the impact you had on people should be commended with the highest regard. You are an extremely special person that will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you dearly!

Much Love,

Pam, we are very heartbroken about Patty's passing. Losing parents is tough enough but losing a sibling seems to tear your heart even more. Please know we send our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
