Roy Jefferson Obituary
Roy married his High School sweetheart Bonnie Reese on April 16, 1966. After graduation he joined the US Army. While serving, Roy received several medals, including the purple heart before his honorable discharge. Roy confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at Pleasant Grove M.B.C. in Gary, Indiana. After his service in the Military. Roy was employed at US Steel in Gary, Indiana for 35 years until he retired. Roy was an amazing bowler, even traveling in tournament, racking up the trophies. Roy had a way of making anyone feel comfortable, and was fun to be around.
He was preceded in death by parents John Jefferson and Mozell Davis, brothers Calvin, Nennie, Marvin and Sonny, Sister Ruby Lee. He leaves to cherish his memory wife of 55 years Bonnie Jefferson of Gary, IN; Sons Roy (Dawn) Jefferson Jr. of Merrillville, IN and Derrick Jefferson of Gary, IN; Daughters Lisa and Chanel; Brothers Virsee of Austin, TX; Delvin of Texas, sisters Lula Mae, Christine, Ruth Esther all of Austin, Texas; Grandsons Jay, Derrick Jr., Tye, granddaughter Brianna Blount, 14 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial service Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:00am at the Guy & Allen Funeral Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Services will be live stream on Face Book at Guy & Allen Funeral Directors, Inc.
