Samuel Gulley

1929 - 2017

Samuel Gulley was born October 19, 1929 to the late Willie and Elnora (Alexander) Gulley in Rosston, AR. He received his formal education in Rosston, AR then joined the US Army. He was honorably discharged in 1961. He migrated to Gary and worked at U.S. Steel for 40 years. Sam was never blessed to have children of his own, but he loved to shower his love and affection on his siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was a generous, loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Sam never hesitated to help family who were in need. Samuel departed this life the morning of November 11, 2017. His parents, four sisters Naomi Conway, Narvell Gulley, Rosie L. Marsh and Ardell Johnson, one brother Pastor Rollie Gulley Jr, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: sister-in-law Emily A. Gulley; 4 nieces Sandrea Feagin, Sharon Holt, Sheryl Yates and Pastor Carole D. Gulley (Special caregiver); 3 nephews Kenny Ray Johnson, Rollie C. Gulley and Gordon R. Gulley; Niece Loretta Gulley-Houston (special caregiver) and other relatives and friends. Heartfelt "Thank you" to Lori Jackson, Deborah Glass (Caregivers), and the staff of Unity Hospice for there compassionate service. Visitation Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. All service at the Whole Truth C.O.G.I.C., 717 W. 45th Ave. Elder Roosevelt Pullins, officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
