Sandra Gerber Obituary

SANDRA LYNN GERBER ''NANA'' Age 62 years, of Jackson Township, Valparaiso, IN, passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 24, 2005. Mrs. Gerber was an Office Manager/Vet Technician at the Arbor View Animal Hospital. She was a former member of Jobes Daughters and was a member of the Cross Trailers Square Dancing Club and President of the club for four years. She was a wonderful wife and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Gerber was born on January 2, 1943 in Gary, Indiana to the late Herbert Claude Claussen and Doris M. Claussen, who survives of Jackson Township, Valparaiso, IN. She was married on September 16, 1961 in Crisman (Portage, IN) to Albert D. Gerber, who survives of Jackson Township, Valparaiso, IN. She is also survived by her son, Todd Gerber of Jackson Township; daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Boatright of Jackson Township, Valparaiso, IN; sisters, Dixie (Arthur) Johnson of Westville, IN and Linda (Steven) Hutka of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law William Gerber of Portage, IN; sisters-in-law, Loretta Claussen of AZ, Chris (Duke) Nowland of Beanblossom, In and Catherine Gerber of Portage, IN; grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Matthew, Morgan and Marissa Boatright and Joshua Gerber; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, brother, William Claussen and sister, Janet Meyers. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 4 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN with Chaplain Nan Dehnke officiating. The visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005 from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m.
