Tracy
Mrs. Philips was a Wonderful Lady and I know she will be greatfully missed. All the people of East Chicago who knew her, were blessed to have had the privilege. I am one of many who's life was touch by her.

I remember cousin Thelma and I am sorry to hear of her passing. She wrote me a wonderful note after I sent her a photo of herself and our cousin Rae after the funeral of either Uncle Earl or Aunt Vivian (TT). I can't remember now which family gathering it was. May God strengthen your family in this time of sadness.
Maybe you can join us at our next Evans family reunion in Las Vegas in 2007, and represent our Grandmother's side for us!

To family and our cousin Traci: I send my heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Thelma was so wonderfully unique and talented. I don't believe there was anything she couldn't do! She will be missed and I feel that heaven has already found a place for her to share her music and her wonderful spirit. May God comfort and keep you all. Love, Rae

I am wholly enriched by having known Mama Phillips. To me she was a giant among human beings and a tireless worker in the vineyards of the Lord. She was a good soul.

DEAREST TRACI & FAMILY: JUST A FEW WORDS TO SAY, YOUR MOM "FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT". SHE'S AT REST. YOU WERE A GOOD DAUGHTER, FRIEND & BUDDY. NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU. AS I WATCHED YOU GROW INTO WOMENHOOD, YOU WERE LIKE A ROSE BLOOMING. A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TO SEE. WE ALL LOVE YOU DEARLY. WE DON'T HAVE TO BE IN YOUR FACE ALL THE TIME, BUT WHEN WE DO MEET, IT'S LIKE YESTER-YEAR. BE STRONG FOR JONATHAN. HE WAS YOUR MOTHER'S HEART. SHE WAS SO PROUD WHEN HE WAS BORN. YOU'LL HAVE SOME GOOD DAYS & SOME BAD DAYS. BUT YOUR GOOD DAYS, WILL OUT WEIGH YOUR BAD DAYS. YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER WILL WATCH OVER YOU & FAMILY. OH YES, MOM IS WATCHING ALSO AS SHE HEARS; "WELL DONE MY GOOD & FAITHFUL SERVANT", AS SHE PLAYS FOR THE CHOIR.
GOD BLESS YOU,
AUNTIE PAL & FAMILY

I am grateful to God for Mrs. Phillips' service as the youth director for the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Indiana, Inc. As a youth growing up in that convention, Mrs. Phillips was always an encouraging voice for every young person who crossed her path. Although she was a disciplinarian, she was a joy to have as a counselor. Thank you family and thank you Zion for sharing your mother, grandmother, and member with us. As adults our lives are all the better because she taught us much. Above all she made sure that we all presented our best selves before the living God.
Thank You God for her life on earth.
I only hope that we can pass on to youth some of what she shared with us.
Rest on Ms. Phillips!
