William A. Fischer

WILLIAM A. FISCHER Age 96 of Valparaiso, formerly of Kouts, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Pines Assisted Living Facility. He was born December 12, 1907 in Valparaiso the son of Frank Herman and Lilly (Schneider) Fischer. He had been a Machinist with Urschel Laboratories for 25 years retiring in 1973, was a member of Kouts Presbyterian Church and had previously been Chairman of the Kouts Town Board and Treasurer for the Northern Indiana Regional Planning Commission. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen (Barker) Fischer in 1974 and is survived by his second wife, Inez P. (Whittington) Fischer of Valparaiso; 1 son, Jim (Anne) Fischer of Valparaiso; sister-in-law, Ethel Fischer of Valparaiso; 3 nieces, Marjory Rule of IL, Diana (Dale) Tarpo of CA, Paula (Terry) O'Donnell of CO, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Lee Malcolm and 2 brothers, "J.R." John Roland Fischer and Paul Fischer. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso. Rev. Dottie Halverson officiating with burial at Graceland Cemetery.
