Red Harrington was an icon at FVTI. I was enrolled in the Automotive Technology program (1973-75) and having Red as my instructor was one of the best experiences of my life. My classmates Skip, Jim, Jeff, and others just seemed to click with Red. Red truly enjoyed teaching and we soaked up his knowledge like a sponge. We looked forward to his class every day. I have relied on what I learned from him many times. Red taught me tricks to problem-solve a fix and do it right. He was 100% into sharing his knowledge with every student.

I had the opportunity to visit Red about 2 years ago and we spent 2 hours catching up. I learned even more fascinating things about his life and career that made me wish I had spent more time with him over the years.

Red will have a lasting legacy as both a veteran, and one of our nation's finest teachers.

My condolences to his family,

Mark

Dear Dan and Cathy,
Your dad's obituary was a beautiful tribute to a dear man. You must have a million memories stored up after sharing his long and full life. He must have loved life and especially loved his family. Thinking of you both and praying for peace of Christ to surround you as you say "goodbye".
Take care, Sue and Ed Tucker
