Charles Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON Charles, Jr., 80, of Lexington, husband of Betty Ann Vest Johnson, died Saturday, September 6, 2014. He was the son of the late Charles and Beverly Marie Young Johnson, Sr. He was retired from IBM where he was a Quality Engineer and was a member of Broadway Christian Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper. He enjoyed gardening, being a handyman, honey do lists, and spending time with his grandchildren. Recently, he enjoyed the special times he spent with his great grandchildren, Callie Smith and Thomas Case. Besides his wife and great grandchildren, survivors include his children, Deborah (Steve) Case, Lisa (John) McPhearson, Charles Edward (Sarah) Johnson, Linda (Jeff) Dethridge and Pam (Glenn) Peterman; siblings, Naomi Tew, Billy (Becky) Johnson, Tommy (Dianna) Johnson, Margaret Fullmer, Helen (Gene) Spencer, Robert (Debbie) Johnson, Brenda (Glenn) Yazell, and Anna (Jim) Coleman; grandchildren, Adam, Chris, Cesca, Misty, Geneva, Calvin, Cassie, Kristen, Christopher, Zachary, Kelsey, Nathan and Emily; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Kaye Rubell and siblings, John Johnson, Mary Purvis, Sandra Harrell and Donna Faye Johnson. Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday at Milward Man O' War with burial to follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. JR. and Betty I,m so sorry he had to go,but be there later. I want to thank you both for all you have done for me you and you are the greatest big sis anyone could have, And you had a great husband I want to thank him for being the best bother-in-law anyone could have
