Clifford Janssen Obituary

Janssen, Clifford A.

Clifford A. Janssen, 68, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 10, 2016. He was born on January 17, 1947, one of five sons of Henry and Genevieve (Jansen) Janssen. On September 15, 1972, he married his sweetheart, Patricia Hoppe at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly.

Cliff retired from Kimberly Clark in Neenah after more than 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed traveling, playing basketball, and taking long drives with Pat. They had visited 48 states, but he especially enjoyed the Grand Teton Mountains in Wyoming. Cliff loved to fish, and he sported a tan each winter from his time on the ice. His true passion, however, was supporting and loving his grandchildren. He was their number one fan at sporting events, and he cherished each moment with them. Cliff was a devoted family man and will be truly missed.

Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Pat; his four children: Vicki (Dave) Scheffler, Greenwood; Amy (Eric) Lamers, Little Chute; Laura (Bradley) Best, Sussex; Jeffrey (Kate) Janssen, Eagle River; his eight precious grandchildren: John and Jason Scheffler, Drew, Madison and Bryce Lamers, Makenna and Alex Best, Penelope Janssen; his brothers: Gene (Virgie) Janssen, Mike (Alice) Janssen, Don Janssen, Marv (Pat) Janssen; his mother-in-law, Katie Hoppe Van Beek; a brother-in-law, Mike (Pam) Hoppe; and many other family members and special friends.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Karlene Janssen; father-in-law, Orville Hoppe and step father-in-law, John Van Beek.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.

The Janssen family would like to thank Dr. Guenther and his staff at F.V.H.O. and to the 7th floor nursing staff at Appleton Medical Center for their fantastic care, professionalism, and compassion. Happy Trails, Cliffy.

This is the death that effected me more than any of the others recently. It hit me like a ton of bricks....I cannot imagine how you must feel.

I have posted on here three times now, but none of them apparently took.

I feel badly for you Patty...just never expected to outlive Cliff.

If I could...I'd trade places with him...and since I am not into life after death...that says something.

Cliff was too strong to go so fast.

I hope that you and the kids are coping well.
