I just found out that Don had passed away! I am really saddened to hear this. I went to AHW with him. Hung out at Black's Drive in with him. He was so nice and fun to be around. Smiled a lot. Good sense of humor. Just a really nice kid. I was at Black's when we all found out about his motorcycle accident. He had his accident almost the exact same time Roy Barkholz had his. They both ended up in the hospital. Everyone was trying to figure which hospitals they were in and they kept getting it wrong. Then one day I went to Black's and told everyone that I knew exactly which hospitals they were in. I was wrong! That's when Dick Fromme gave me my nickname: Scoop. He said to me, Oh yeah, Kirk, you really had the scoop! Totally blew it. Or something to that effect. But most of us went to visit Don and Roy in the hospital. Just so sad to see so many of the people I knew, leaving us. God's speed, Don!
