Doris Meyer Obituary
Doris Mae Meyer, age 86, of New London, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Theda Care Appleton. Doris was born on April 15, 1929, in Manawa, to the late Carl and Mary (Wakeman) Jasman. She was united in marriage on May 14, 1949 in Milwaukee, to James Meyer. He preceded her in death in 1989. Doris went to beauty school in Milwaukee and worked as a beautician for 50 years, working mainly at St. Joseph Residence in New London. She loved watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and NASCAR. Doris loved being with her family and especially her grandchildren at Christmas time. She was an excellent cook and baker.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Jim) Johnson, Iola; sons, Tom (Kathy) Meyer, Grand Rapids, MI, Denny (Sherry) Meyer, Iola, Scott (Tanya) Meyer, Rhinelander and Lee (Cindy) Meyer, New London; nine grandchildren, Matt, Amy, Heather, Melissa, Brett, Jasmine, Jackie, Daniel, and Tim; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Braelee, Rhett, Malaya and Grant; brother Paul (Dee) Jasman, Fond du Lac and special friends Ruth Charlson and the Ron and Elaine Evans' family. Doris is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Charles and sister, Katie.
A funeral service for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New London. Rev. Bil Sutlief will be officiating. Visitation for Doris will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 4-7:30 p.m. at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home in New London and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

I met Doris in 1972 when I went to Wisconsin with her niece Anna Jasman for the summer. I instantly loved her. She was bubbly and so full of life. She introduced me to my favorite vegetable which I eat to this day. Her Kohlrabi casserole was divine. She always made people feel welcome and she was blessed with her generous family. Anna is my best friend and she has kept me up to date about Aunt Doris. She will be truly misssed.
