Doris Tapp Obituary
Doris E. Tapp, age 95, of Fremont, died on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her daughter's home She was born on September 4, 1921, in Mt. Greenwood, IL, the daughter of the late Edwin and Hedwig(Hedin)Jacobson. Shortly after her birth she was baptized at United Methodist Church in Mt. Greenwood. On December 16, 1943, Doris married Joe Tapp in Chicago. After to moving to Wisconsin, they owned and operated Tapp's Tap in Metz for 11 years. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1984. Doris loved to play poker and go to the casino, as well as crocheting and reading. Doris is survived by her daughter, Sandra(James)Gurgel, Fremont; a son-in-law, Wally Boelter, Mauston, WI; seven grandchildren, Steve(Tammy)Gurgel, Marc(Theresa)Gurgel, Nicole(Matt)Tessen, Jenni(Jim)Boelter, Mandy(Jeremy)Zastrow, Joseph(Stacy)Boelter and Jacob Boelter; 10 great-grandchildren, Guy Tessen, Seth Stanick, Jordan and Alivia Zastrow, Eli, Skylar and Bryson Boelter, Alexis Boelter, Misty and Cody Boers; two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Leighton Boers; a nephew, Bradley(Geri)Jacobson; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Boelter, and her brother Harold(Evelyn)Jacobson. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 22 at Here-n-There, 9686 County Rd HH, Fremont from 12-3PM. A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society.

Doris was a very special lady. She was like a second mom to me. Have many special memories including our trip to Brandon, and being roommates on a cruise. I know in my heart she will understand why I won't be able to attend her memorial service. Rest in peace Doris.
