Dorothy VanSistine Obituary
A joyous celebration of the lives of Dick and Dorothy Van Sistine was held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Sunday June 23 (the anniversary of Dick's birthday) following the death of Dorothy. Dorothy joined the love of her life on June 19, 2014. She was 96 years old. She was a devoted mother of 7, grandmother of 24 and great-grandmother of 24. She was preceeded in death by her husband Dick, son Tim, parents Henry and Marie Peters, and a great granddaughter. She is survived by her sons Ric (Beckie), Dan (Sue), Pete (Mary), Mike (Debbie), daughters Ann Geurts (Mike), Mary Graff (Brad), their families and her sister, Theresa Otis.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Paul's Elder Care for the awesome and loving care that she received.
A memorial is being established for Xavier High School and St. Paul's Elder Care.

Mary, Brad, Heather,Tara, Brooks, Ann, Mike and family: My thoughts and prayers are with you all. The loss of a mother/grandmother is difficult no matter what age. I lost my mom to Alzheimer's 4 years ago and miss her every day. My dad is at Brewster Village nursing home as he had a stroke a year ago but is doing well. We sold our Mueller Street home in March after being there 46 years. I think of you all very often! God bless.

May Dorothy rest in peace, what a kind giving woman she was. We sat together at basketball games and worked in the Booster Club side by side. Many great memories with a wonderful lady may she rest in peace.

Dorothy graced the halls of Xavier for many years providing her delicious cookies to her grand kids. On behalf of Xavier I would like to thank the VanSistine family for all of your support over the years. I believe Dorothy will have a special place in heaven. What a beautiful woman who raised a great family! God bless all of you.
