Gary Weaver Obituary

Gary L. Weaver

Kaukauna - Gary Weaver, age 70 of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. His family was at his side when he left us on Saturday morning, June 12, 2021. Gary was born in Madison on December 17, 1950 the son of Jack and June (Holstein) Weaver. Gary married Ramona Schiller on June 29, 1974, and together they operated a local business. In his younger years Gary enjoyed hunting, boating, and fishing. He was also an animal lover, and usually couldn't resist sharing bedtime treats of ice cream or cheese and crackers with his furry babies Shadow and Eddie. Until his illness escalated, he was a faithful and active member of Celebration Church.

Gary was an expert tinkerer. There wasn't a problem he couldn't solve or anything he couldn't fix. He was just the best handy man ever, having remodeled and enlarged their home and business. Maybe that's because one of the drawers in his tool box was always stocked with M & Ms, 3 Musketeers, and Mr. Goodbars. There was never a shortage of chocolate or an empty cup of coffee.

Gary is survived by his wife: Ramona of Kaukauna; three children: Sabrena Cortazzo, Brenda Castenada and Matthew Walters; his mother: June Weaver; six grandchildren: Damien VandenBloomer, Austin (Taylor) VandenBloomer, Emma Cortazzo, Dylan Rosenthal, Jacobo Castenada and Matthew Walters, Jr; as well as family friends Tim Drechsler and Kit Therrien.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 1913 Crooks Avenue in Kaukauna.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Kaukauna Clinic, Dr. Russo, Terri, and Lorraine from ThedaCare Hospice for the wonderful, loving care they brought to Gary. You will never be forgotten.
