Glenn Leeman Obituary

Leeman, Glenn Arley

In loving memory of Glenn Arley Leeman who passed away on April 4, 2015 after a short illness.

Glenn was born to Merton Hibbard Leeman, Sr. and Evelyn Engel Leeman, October 9, 1930 at the Lazy T Ranch in Killdeer, North Dakota. The family moved to Chicago in 1932 living there for 16 years. Glenn attended Lowell School and Crane Tech High School. The family moved again to Appleton, Wisconsin in 1948.

Glenn married Kathleen Gomm in 1951 and together had 5 children: Merton, Cynthia, Anthony, Vincent and Charles. Glenn worked as a chef in various restaurants in the Appleton area. He was proprietor of Glenn's Restaurant in downtown Hortonville for 11 years. He also owned the "Silver Dollar" before moving to Cape Coral, Florida in 1975. He continued working in restaurants on Sanibel Island and Cape Coral until his retirement.

Through these 40 years in Florida, his family grew as his children married. Mert and Cheryl (Fietz) had children William (Cayla), Thomas and James (Jessica). Cindy and Fred Glasenapp had daughters Betsy and Kristy (Koenig). Vince and Sue (Rudolph) had sons Michael (Jessica) and Andrew (Sara). Chuck and Lisa (Koeppl) had children Courtney (Dan Wunderlich) and Bradley. His great-grandchildren include Madison & Morgan Koenig, Owen & Annabel Leeman and Eisley Leeman.

We remember Glenn as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was an artist both with paints and wood as well as in the kitchen as a cook. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs.

He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Merton Sr., his brother Merton Hibbard Leeman Jr., his sister, Muriel Bursiek and his grandson Thomas Leeman. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hope Hospice in gratitude for their care.

Our sympathies to your family. There are many great memories hanging out with Vince as a kid. Running around back in the pines and wading thru leach pools. There were also some good times meeting everyone at the restaurant after games. We will be keeping you in our prayers.
